Donald Cameron:

Trooper Donald Cameron was born on 01 July 1911 in Leith on the northern outskirts of Edinburgh in Scotland. 
He was the son of Donald Archie Cameron and his wife Annie May Cameron, née Spence. Donald and Annie May married on 05 March 1908 and Donald grew up with his older sister Mary and his younger sister Jessie, who was born in 1922 and married George Stewart in 1947. Jessie died in 2003, Mary was unmarried and died in 1970 at the age of 61. Mary was born on 06 October 1908. 
The father Donald Archie Cameron worked as a bus driver. Annie May was a housewife.
The family lived at 34 Balfour Street in Leith.
In civilian life, Donald Cameron worked as a tram conductor before joining the military.
On 10 November 1944, Donald Cameron and Catherine Flanagan were married in the Church of the Sacred Heart in Edinburgh. The short marriage remained childless. 
Catherine Cameron worked as a rubber worker at the North British Rubber Company. During the war, the factory produced rubber boots, gas masks and tyres for army vehicles, among other things.
Catherine died in Leith in 1976. She did not remarry after her husband's death.
Donald died at Kutenholz on 30 April 1945, aged 33, along with his comrades Robin Tudsbery and James Henry Woodfield, when their armoured reconnaissance vehicle ran over a sea mine.
His service number is 774165 and he was a member of the Royal Horse Guards.

Michael John Turner:

Trooper Michael John Turner was the son of William and Evelyn Mabel Turner from Stourbridge, Worcestershire near Birmingham.
He was the second son of the couple.
He joined the Life Guards.
He belonged to the 1st Bn. Life Guards Household Cavalry.
His service number was 296149.
Michael died in action on 01 May 1945, aged 20.

William John Allen:

Corporal William John Allen was a member of the 1st Life Guards Household Cavalry Regiment.
His service number was 5777972.
He died in action on 02 May 1945, aged 23.

John Charles Troughton:

Corporal Of Horse John Charles Troughton was a member of the 1st Bn. Royal Horse Guards Household Cavalry.
His service number was 305392.
He died on 3 May 1945 as a result of wounds received in the battle for the village of Burweg.
He was 28 years old.
John Charles Troughton was born in the Doncaster area in the summer of 1916.
His parents are William and Lillian K. Troughton, née Cox who married in the Doncaster area in late 1913.
John was the second child in the family.
He grew up with two sisters.
Doris was born late 1914 and Jenny was born early 1920.
He was married to Freda Troughton, a spinster from Ossett, Yorkshire.
She must have been born 1912.
Freda and John got married on 04 November 1944 at the St Peter's Church, Horbury.

Colin Godfrey Wray:

Guardsman Colin Godfrey Wray of the Grenadier Guards was born in July 1919 in Bishop Auckland, Durham, near Darlington in England.
His father was Herbert Wray. He was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, in 1886 and worked as a needlework teacher for the Durham County Education Committee.
Colin's mother was called Flossie Wray and had the maiden name Holiday.
Flossie was born in Tow Law, Durham, in 1888 and was a housewife.
Before her marriage she worked as a nurse in a hospital in Birmingham.

Herbert and Flossie married in the spring of 1912 and had three children.
Colin was their youngest child.
Colins sister Kathleen was born in January 1913.
His brother William Herbert was born in September 1916.
The family later moved to Sheffield.
His father Herbert died in December 1937.
Colins mother Flossie died in 1976.
Research shows that Colin was living in Sheffield when he joined the regiment in 1941. He died on 30 April 1945 at the age of 25.
His service number was 2615834.
